United KHH Med AI (雄聯智能生醫), a medical AI startup founded in 2024 by Dr. Hao-Wei (Howard) Chen of KMUH, continues to gain national and international recognition for its contributions to AI-driven clinical innovation and preventive medicine.
Dr. Chen has received the National Innovation Award – Clinical Innovation Award in both 2023 and 2024, recognizing his sustained efforts to translate medical research into clinically impactful healthcare solutions. His work has also been honored internationally with the 2024 European Association of Urology (EAU) Helmut Haas Award, one of the most prestigious distinctions in urology, highlighting the global significance of his contributions to the early detection and prevention of kidney stones.
In 2025, Dr. Chen’s innovation further earned 1st Runner-Up at the APICTA Awards, acknowledging excellence in the application of artificial intelligence to address critical healthcare challenges and demonstrating strong technical and commercialization potential.
Further strengthening its innovation capacity, Dr. Chen, in collaboration with United KHH Med AI (雄聯智能生醫), successfully secured the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) “Value Creation from R&D Results” grant, receiving NT$15 million to support the translation of research outcomes into market-ready products. Together, these achievements reflect Dr. Chen’s leadership in medical AI innovation and the powerful impact of academia–industry collaboration in advancing earlier detection, better prevention, and improved patient outcomes.
